Ever Feel Like This?

Ever Feel Like This?

Someone … help me to understand why the minute I begin sharing living space with someone, I suddenly turn into this person who irons their underwear and socks. Not really doing that 😉, but thirty years of living alone has found me deeply set in my ways. Being around others at close proximity can certainly act as a mirror and catalyst for personal growth. Ah, the curse of perfectionism. Control … yes … that is what this appears to be about. Something I read suggested living with lower standards! How shocking!!! Looks as if the party may be over, for me anyway.

The second chakra, or power chakra symbol can be visualized in an orange six petaled lotus flower. Issues associated with this chakra include: personal relationships, blame, guilt, money, sex, power, control, creativity, morality, duality, magnetism, controlling patterns, emotional feelings (joy, anger, fear). Can anyone relate? Who doesn’t have issues in this area to one extent or another in our Western society? These things must still be processed however, in order to allow abundance, harmony and wealth into your life.

Whew …. I can see my work is cut out for me at this point. A close cousin to procrastination, perfectionism is a willing companion for delaying your own success. On the other hand, empowering oneself could make the need for ‘control’ obsolete. An alternate state which would support this process would consist of faith, gratitude, and love. Putting out to the universe what you want is indeed what is required, yet the footwork must be done in order to clear past circumstances before you are free to move forward. This means processing what is there in order to make room for the new.

By freely giving & receiving love, managing emotions, desire, change, movement in assimilation of new ideas will also contribute to better health. Surrendering allows us to work harmoniously and creatively with ourselves and others. Since the second chakra governs creativity, believing once I wade through the issues applicable to me, hope exists for creativity to flow more easily. Awareness is the first step. Accepting all the good and the not so shiny qualities I possess will propel me forward … and from what I hear … the hoop one has to jump through is not near as small as first thought.

Transitional in-between age, this middle aged adolescent rebirth. An awkward age indeed, as this quote by Georges Eliot proclaims.

The years between fifty and seventy are the hardest. You are always being asked to do things, and yet you are not decrepit enough to turn them down.
~George Eliot

great day
