Introspection

pond-sept9-2014Delving deep this time to discover what is really important and let all else fall by the wayside.

An abrupt end to summer seemed to show all the glaring details that need attention.  Dirty windows exposed by sunshine.  Reminders of things forgotten and doing what has to be done.  We have had a  welcome reprieve of extended autumn weather and now it is snowing today.

I have moved house which is an opportunity to regroup and reorganize. How different our precious belongings look in boxes. This new residence is going to be like I am living in my studio. It’s a little smaller and I am not going to cram my art stuff in the tiniest room.

I am going to surround myself with my creative talents and my seating area will be integrated into that. Immersion and introspection, a place to do my creative work. Of course the kitchen is a central point. Painting, playing music, writing and cooking.  Life simplified by clearing what is no longer necessary.

In order to make the place livable a number of renovations had to be done by myself & an amazing group of friends who all contributed. How fortunate I am to have this kind of support. It would not have been possible without the help of community.  Now the unpacking &  organizing is underway.

I still find myself Living in a landscape of  assorted of boxes with a couple of further upgrades to complete. I am excited to get my place organized so I can move on to the next phase of creating! Watch for some new work soon, both music and art.

I am hosting a monthly Open Stage/Jam at the Kensington Pub on the first Sunday of every month from 2:30 to 6:30 pm. We had a great time at the first one and this one is sure to gain popularity. Come down to share your music, or just listen. The next one is Sunday, December 7.
