Just For Fun

stain canvas landscape This is a canvas which I was going to use for a floral painting. Taking it out of the wrapper however, I discovered it was coffee stained, from being jostled home on the bus along with my to-go mug, sometime back. I thought the design was cool, it looked like a horizon line in a landscape, so I couldn’t possibly paint over it, not flowers anyway.

The little canvas that wanted to be a landscape. The lighter areas are the coffee stain. Recalling some reference photos with similar form, I found one from a hike at Johnson Lake last spring. So here I have begun blocking it in, incorporating the coffee stain into the painting.

And this is what I have come up with so far. Johnson Lake Acrylic on Canvas 10 X 20.

This is a verdacchio under painting, composed of Vandyke Red, Chromium Oxide Green, Ivory Black, and Titanium White. Now I will be glazing in the colors, and adding the finer detail.

I have no problem what-so-ever keeping myself entertained. Trusting your day is wonderful … and remember … if life gives you lemons … make lemonade! Of course you may have that hot of cold. Cheers!
