New Year Optimism

A new year is upon us once again. Actions taken every day, no matter how small, will add up and help to maintain New Year optimism. It’s a time to think about what I will create in the coming year. That means putting it all into practise.
2025 seems like a big number. As we get older, it is also a time to reminisce about where we have come from. Like a cat living out many lives, I know I am resilient and ready for any challenges that may come my way.
Gratitude is my theme for the year
My theme for this year is going to be gratitude. I got the message loud and clear. My focus will be on what I have, and ways I can implement all of this into my life.
Gratitude tends to be a transformative process, so, when consciously focusing on what you have, you have the potential to reshape your mindset. Your health, finances, and life will improve, and you will deepen your relationships.
Anyone and everyone can improve their well-being. For me, it will be extremely beneficial. I am not an ungrateful person, but a continuous conscious awareness will yield better results. And it is a way to keep myself in check.
Whenever I feel a negative emotion, I can replace it with something I am grateful for. I can already see that this will be a mental diet that I will acquire a taste for. Most likely, it will entail a series of course corrections that will lead to forming positive habits, although I don’t expect to be perfect—no one is. However, I will try my best.
Tips for Practising Gratitude
I stumbled upon this website, grateful dot org, which has tips on how to practise gratitude in one’s life. I will incorporate journaling, which I will combine with my morning pages, aka The Artist’s Way, by Julia Cameron, one of the mainstays of the creative process. All of my creative pursuits will be included as well, though I am not sure how that is going to work yet. You can see some of my artwork here.
Here’s my good things jar, suggested by a friend. Each day put a piece of paper, with one thing good thing, or something I am grateful for.
I will be able to open them all by year’s end. It sounds like a fun thing to do, and it has been recommended to me before, though I have not done it until now.
Are you doing anything special for the new year? How will you move forward and turn your intentions and dreams into reality? What area will be your focus? Leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you.
