Penumbra

Penumbra

The fourth Podmalyovok, seen here, is known as the dead layer. It’s aim is Penumbra, where the objects must look as if they are lit by moonlight, resulting in an olive cold grey color.

Here, colors have been applied with a little more thickness, half a tone higher, shadows remain transparent, half a tone lower. In this layer, I have also done some correcting of the shapes of the pears, which ideally, would not be necessary.

Yet, as I said, this is an experiment for me, and I am learning as I go along. Already I feel I have learned so much by experimenting with this process. Just three more layers to go, so stay tuned!
