Random Acts
Rain began pelting down, partway through running errands, last night. Carrying a lot of stuff, I struggled my way to the bus stop. Sudden panic set in with the realization I had forgotten to get change for the bus.
Asking the people at the bus stop if they had change for a twenty, however, no one did. I tried to call a cab, but the lines were busy, and one guy, with several grocery bags told me, “Good luck, it is an hour and a half wait for a cab.”
Not sure what I could do, another hand reached out toward me with bus fare. I said, “Oh, no … I couldn’t.” He said, “Please … take it.” I gratefully accepted, amazed at my good fortune. One small random act of kindness made my day, restoring my faith in humankind.
